Shelf System

Overview

A sculptural shelving system that transforms storage into an architectural statement. Designed as a continuous flowing surface, the shelf introduces rhythm, movement, and sculptural quality into interior environments. Rather than functioning as a conventional storage unit, it operates as a spatial installation that interacts dynamically with light, shadow, and objects placed within it.

Design & Geometry

The form is generated through parametric wave modulation, creating a repeating sinusoidal geometry that produces alternating concave and convex pockets. This continuous ribbon-like structure enhances both structural performance and visual fluidity. The geometry allows objects to be displayed within naturally formed niches, turning everyday items into curated visual compositions.

The layered texture from the additive manufacturing process reinforces the digital origin of the form, emphasizing material continuity and computational precision.

Fabrication

Manufactured using large-format robotic 3D printing, the shelf is produced as an integrated structural system rather than assembled components. The additive process allows seamless curvature, efficient material distribution, and full customization in scale, proportion, and color.
